Voice & Network Engineer
£47,000 + £4,000 on-call allowance
12-month Fixed-Term Contract
Location: Gloucester (5 days a week)
The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Voice & Network Engineer to join a small, highly skilled technical team within a public sector organisation on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong background in Voice technologies who is looking to broaden their technical experience across networking, infrastructure and data communications.
Voice will remain a key focus of the position, particularly across technologies including Cisco CUCM, Cisco UCCE, SIP and Microsoft Teams, but the role will also provide significant exposure to wider networking technologies including LAN/WAN, network monitoring, wireless and network security.
Working within a small technical team means you will not be restricted to one narrow area of responsibility. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of technical issues, work alongside experienced colleagues and gain hands-on exposure across a diverse technology environment.
This position would suit someone who enjoys troubleshooting, solving complex technical problems and wants to continue developing into a well-rounded Voice & Network professional.
Key Responsibilities
As a Voice & Network Engineer, you will support, maintain and troubleshoot the organisation's Voice and network infrastructure.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
