Make a difference across the Defence estate

VIVO is looking for an organised, motivated, and people-focused Void Works Supervisor to join our Accommodation team in the Southwest. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in void maintenance, housing maintenance, or a trade background who is ready to take the next step into supervision.

With a willingness to learn and develop on the job, this role offers the chance to build leadership experience while playing a key part in delivering high-quality homes for Service families.

VIVO delivers infrastructure, asset, and facilities management services across the UK Defence sector. Following the award of major MOD contracts, our business continues to grow, creating excellent opportunities for people who want to develop their careers while making a real difference.

The Role

As Void Works Supervisor, responsibility will be taken for the day-to-day delivery of void maintenance, ensuring properties are completed to the required standards and ready for Service families to move into.

The role will involve carrying out void Work in Progress inspections, checking subcontractor progress and workmanship, and signing off completed works to confirm they meet the required standards. Joint inspections will also be undertaken with service partners, with visits scheduled and managed independently to ensure works progress efficiently and properties are ready for move-in.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The role involves considerable travel across the Southwest patch, with journeys of up to two hours depending on the area being covered. The geographical area can stretch from Plymouth to Helston, so flexibility and a willingness to travel are essential. A company van and fuel card will be provided.

The patch operates on a four-month rotation, with three areas covered across the year, meaning each area is visited once annually on the rotation. The successful candidate will organise their own inspection visits while also coordinating and supporting move-ins as required.

The successful candidate will provide effective leadership to the operational team, supporting and motivating colleagues while helping individuals and the wider service to perform at their best. Subcontractors will be managed closely, with responsibility for monitoring performance, quality, and delivery, ensuring works are completed correctly and on schedule.

Health and safety will be a key priority, with regular site audits undertaken to ensure compliance and standards are maintained. Working closely with the Void Delivery Manager, the role will also support the management of poor supply chain performance and help ensure agreed KPIs, SLAs, and customer satisfaction targets are achieved.

What we're looking for

This role would suit someone who has previously worked in void maintenance, housing maintenance, or within a trade environment and is now looking to progress into a supervisory position. Previous supervisory experience would be beneficial, but a strong technical background combined with the right attitude and willingness to learn will be considered.

  • Strong communication and people skills are essential, alongside excellent IT capability and a customer-focused approach. Knowledge of Schedule of Rates would be advantageous.
  • Health and safety training across relevant areas is desirable, although training can be provided.

If you're ready to take the next step from a trade or voids background into a role where leadership, quality, and customer service really matter, we'd love to hear from you.
