Role Description
The Volunteer U7’s Manager & Assistant (Boys & Girls) will support the planning and delivery of football sessions for children under 7 years old at AFC Bolton. This part-time, on-site role in Bolton involves organizing training activities, helping set up and pack away equipment, and ensuring sessions run safely and smoothly. The volunteer will communicate with parents and caregivers, provide clear guidance to players, and encourage positive behavior and teamwork. Additional responsibilities will include organizing and attending weekly match day games & training sessions, and coordinating with other coaches and club staff. The role is focused on creating a fun, inclusive environment that supports children’s development in both football skills and confidence.

- Ability to communicate clearly and positively with children, parents, and other volunteers, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Organisational and time management skills to plan sessions, manage equipment, and support match day logistics.
- Patience, empathy, and a supportive attitude when working with young children of varied abilities and backgrounds.
- Commitment to safeguarding, child welfare, and maintaining a safe environment, including willingness to complete any required background checks.
- Interest or experience in football, youth sports coaching, or working with children in educational or recreational settings.
- Reliability, accountability, and readiness to collaborate within a team-oriented club environment.
- Availability for weekly evening and weekend sessions and matches.
- Relevant coaching badges or first aid training are beneficial but not essential; willingness to undertake training supported by the club is valued.
