Volleyball Club Coach

Sport & Active Lifestyle, University of Chester

Reference: 3523-26

Location: Exton Park, Chester

Rate of Pay: £25 per hour (maximum £2,100 per year)

Contract: October–December and January–March (21 weeks in total)

The University of Chester is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Volleyball Club Coach to join our Sport & Active Lifestyle team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a growing and ambitious university sports club, supporting student athletes to develop their skills, confidence, and enjoyment of the game. You will play a key role in creating an inclusive and engaging environment where players of all abilities can thrive.

About The Role

As Volleyball Club Coach, you will:

  • Lead and deliver structured coaching sessions for club members of all abilities.
  • Support the development and progression of student players throughout the season.
  • Work collaboratively with club captains and committee members to support club objectives.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and motivating training environment.
  • Act as a professional role model and ambassador for sportCHESTER.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Sport Development Team.
  • Complete a DBS check and University safeguarding training prior to commencing the role.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • A minimum Level 2 Coaching Qualification in Volleyball.
  • A Safeguarding and Protecting Children in Sport certificate.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of volleyball coaching and player development.
  • Experience of working with young adults.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong motivational and leadership abilities.
  • The ability to plan, develop, and deliver engaging coaching sessions.
  • The ability to work independently and use initiative.

Desirable

  • First Aid qualification.
  • Experience of playing or competing in volleyball at club level or above.
