Company Description
ReviveUK EdTech CIC is a Lancaster-based community interest company focused on inclusive STEAM education and employability support for disadvantaged and underserved individuals. The organisation delivers accessible learning in coding, robotics, digital skills, engineering, and applied science, alongside careers guidance and mentoring. Services are tailored for children and young people, disabled and neurodivergent learners, home-educated students, unemployed adults, and international students. By improving access to skills, training, and work opportunities, ReviveUK EdTech CIC helps reduce poverty, promote inclusion, and strengthen the local economy across Lancaster and surrounding areas.
Role Description
The Voluntary Director internship is a hybrid role based in Lancaster, with a mix of on-site responsibilities and some work from home. The Director will support strategic planning, governance, and oversight of educational and employability programmes, working closely with other leaders to ensure activities align with the organisation’s mission and community needs. Day-to-day tasks may include attending board meetings, contributing to policy development, reviewing project performance, and helping secure partnerships, funding, and outreach opportunities. The role also involves engaging with learners and community stakeholders, promoting inclusive practices, and providing guidance on programme development and impact measurement. This is an internship position, offering hands-on experience in social impact leadership and community-focused education.

- Experience or strong interest in education, STEAM subjects, or EdTech, with an understanding of inclusive and accessible learning.
- Skills in strategic planning, governance, or project oversight, including the ability to contribute to policies and organisational development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with learners, staff, partners, and community stakeholders.
- Commitment to social impact, equality, and inclusion, particularly in supporting disadvantaged and underserved groups.
- Organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage responsibilities in a hybrid work environment.
- Beneficial qualifications include experience in nonprofit or social enterprise settings, familiarity with fundraising or grant applications, and knowledge of the Lancaster community.
