Join our church media team in Thamesmead and operate one of our cameras during Sunday services. Capture professional and engaging shots of worship, preaching and other service activities for our livestream, recordings and digital content.
What difference will you make?
Camera operators play an important part in the quality of our livestreams and recorded services.
Having dedicated Camera Operators will allow each camera to be properly controlled and provide our Video Switcher Operator with a range of strong shots to choose from during live production.
Your contribution will help us:
- Improve the visual quality of our livestreams.
- Capture worship, preaching and church activities more professionally.
- Provide better shots for live video switching.
- Produce higher-quality recordings for YouTube and social media.
- Reduce pressure on our existing technical team.
- Improve the experience of people watching online.
- Make better use of the camera and production equipment already available to the church.
- Strengthen our ability to communicate our faith, activities and community work through digital media.
The role will therefore make a direct and visible contribution to the quality of our Sunday broadcasts.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, observant, visually aware and comfortable using technical equipment in a live environment.
The ideal volunteer will have:
- Relevant professional experience in camera operation, video production, broadcasting, photography, live events, AV or a related field.
- Practical experience using video cameras.
- A good understanding of framing and composition.
- Ability to follow moving subjects smoothly.
- Understanding of wide, medium and close-up shots.
- Basic knowledge of focus, zoom and exposure.
- Good concentration and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow direction from a Video Switcher / Vision Mixer Operator.
- Ability to remain calm when activity changes unexpectedly.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine willingness and dedication to learn.
Applicants do not need to know our exact camera equipment from day one. We value people who are technically curious, committed and willing to learn our systems and production methods.
Previous Church Experience Is Not Required.
What will you be doing?
Royal Priesthood Pentecostal Church (UK) is looking for skilled, reliable Camera Operators to join our media team for Sunday services and selected special events.

We operate a two-camera setup and are looking for volunteers who can each take responsibility for one camera during live services.
Key responsibilities include
- Operating one of our video cameras during Sunday services.
- Following the preacher, worship leaders, singers and other activity.
- Maintaining clear, steady and appropriate framing.
- Adjusting zoom, focus and camera position when required.
- Producing a mixture of wide, medium and close-up shots.
- Anticipating what is happening in the service and preparing the next suitable shot.
- Following direction from the Video Switcher / Vision Mixer Operator.
- Checking camera operation and video feeds before the service begins.
- Identifying and reporting basic camera, cabling or video-signal problems.
- Working closely with the other camera operator and wider media team.
- Assisting with camera testing and setup before services.
Sunday operation is the main responsibility.
Because we operate from a hired school venue, our media and AV equipment must be set up before services. We would therefore, if possible, also value volunteers who can attend on Saturday afternoons, usually from around 2 00–3 00 PM onwards, to help with setup, connection and testing.
