Volunteer Case Worker
Resolute Women’s Support Services is looking for a compassionate, reliable and committed Volunteer Case Worker to support women who have experienced domestic abuse, trauma and difficult life circumstances.
What difference will you make?
- Increasing capacity – allowing Resolute to support more women without placing all casework responsibility on a small number of staff.
- Providing consistent support – giving women a named person who can follow their journey, check progress and help make sure important actions are not missed.
- Reducing pressure on staff – taking responsibility for appropriate casework, follow-ups, referrals, appointments and record keeping.
- Improving case management – helping keep support plans, risk information, referrals and outcomes organised and up to date.
- Strengthening advocacy – supporting women when communicating with housing, police, social care, health services and other agencies.
- Helping women access the full Resolute pathway – making sure women are connected to counselling, peer support, holistic therapies and other services that could benefit them.
- Improving continuity of care – helping prevent women from feeling passed between different organisations or having to repeatedly explain their circumstances.
- Supporting safeguarding – recognising concerns, escalating them appropriately and helping the team maintain safe working practices.
- Building evidence of Resolute’s impact – accurate case notes and outcome monitoring can demonstrate how women are being supported, which is important for funding applications, reports and future investment.
- Strengthening Resolute for the future – a well-trained volunteer casework team can help the organisation grow sustainably and reach more women and families across the community.

Experience within domestic abuse, safeguarding, mental health, housing, social care, advocacy or another support environment would be beneficial, but lived experience and transferable life skills are also valued.

As a Volunteer Case Worker, you will work alongside the Resolute team to provide practical and emotional support to women accessing our services.
You will help women identify their needs, understand their options and work towards individual goals through a person-centred, trauma-informed approach.
The role may include
- Meeting with women and providing a safe, non-judgemental space to talk.
- Supporting initial assessments and identifying individual support needs.
- Helping to develop and review personalised support and safety plans.
- Providing ongoing practical and emotional support.
- Advocating for women when dealing with housing, police, social care, health services and other agencies where appropriate.
- Supporting women to attend appointments or access specialist services.
- Signposting and making referrals to relevant organisations.
- Helping women access Resolute services including counselling, peer support, holistic therapies, training and other activities.
- Maintaining appropriate and confidential case notes.
- Working closely with staff, volunteers and partner agencies.
- Recognising safeguarding concerns and following Resolute’s safeguarding procedures.
- Helping women build confidence, independence and control over their own lives.
