About the Role
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and people-focused Volunteer Community Manager to help us build and grow our student network across campuses and online. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves bringing people together, creating engaging experiences and making communities feel active, welcoming and connected. You’ll be one of the key people helping our student community thrive — connecting with students, supporting campus activity, organising initiatives, sharing opportunities and creating communications that keep everyone in the loop. You’ll also have plenty of creative freedom to bring your own ideas to the community.
What You’ll Do
🤝 Build the Community
- Engage with students across campuses and online.
- Welcome new members and help students feel part of the community.
- Build relationships with student ambassadors, campus representatives and community members.
- Encourage conversations, participation and collaboration between students.
- Listen to student feedback and bring new ideas to the team.
📍 Support Campus Activity
- Help organise meetups, events and student activities.
- Work with students and campus representatives to bring ideas to life.
- Encourage participation in community events and initiatives.
- Help create a consistent but localised experience across different campuses.

✍️ Create Content & Communications
- Write and manage our student newsletter.
- Create community updates, announcements and opportunities for students.
- Help produce engaging content for our online channels.
- Share student stories, events, achievements and opportunities.
- Turn updates and information into content that students actually want to read.
🚀 Grow & Improve the Network
- Come up with creative ideas to increase student engagement.
- Help us understand what students want and what would make the community better.
- Experiment with new events, content and engagement formats.
- Identify potential student ambassadors and community leaders.
- Help us grow the network across campuses and online.
Who We’re Looking For
You don’t need to have formal community management experience. We care more about your energy, initiative and ability to connect with people. You might be a great fit if you:
- Love meeting and connecting with people.
- Are genuinely interested in building communities.
- Enjoy writing and creating content.
- Are organised and reliable.
- Are confident communicating with different types of people.
- Have lots of ideas and aren't afraid to take initiative.
- Enjoy organising events or bringing people together.

- Want to develop your leadership, communications, marketing or community-building skills.
- Are passionate about creating a great experience for other students.
