Role
This is a volunteer remote role for a Copy Editor. You will be responsible for editing and proofreading articles, ensuring grammatical accuracy, and maintaining the editorial voice of Zimmer Magazine.
Tasks
- Reviewing article submissions for coherence and clarity
- Providing constructive feedback to writers
- Collaborating with the editorial team to enhance the quality of content
For this role, we require a copy edit of up to eight pieces per month (two per week), so please only apply if you feel you could do this. Your deadline gives you around 3-5 days to get the edit done whenever your schedule allows you.

You will edit book reviews, articles, opinion pieces and columns to ensure consistency across our content. Therefore, the copy editor should be someone who enjoys reading or engaging in cultural commentary in order to uplift diverse voices and challenge the world around us.
Ideal person:
- Proficiency in Grammar and Text Editing - especially in English
- Strong Proofreading skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Passion for literature is a plus!
