About us

St. Hilda’s East is a local charity which aims to combat the challenges arising from deprivation and social exclusion through the delivery of a wide range of engaging activities which promote wellbeing and social connections.

Located in Tower Hamlets, we run a large, friendly Community Centre in Shoreditch, with an Elders Day Centre (Sonali Gardens) for the Bangladeshi and other communities, located in Shadwell. Services include pre-school activities and youth projects, support for older people, legal advice, a food co-operative, wellbeing activities for people experiencing mental health issues, and volunteering placements.

Our Mission

We seek to equip our service users with the resilience to navigate modern life. We welcome everyone into our spaces, work together to deliver engaging activities, promote social contact and ultimately enrich lives.

Role details

  • Location: St Hilda’s Community Centre, 18 Club Row, London
  • Schedule: Hours and days will vary
  • Commitment: 2-5 hours a week for 3 – 6 months

If successful, you will be expected to undergo a Standard DBS check.

About the role

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented volunteer to support our data management and reporting activities using Beacon CRM. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, maintaining accurate records, and helping organisations measure and communicate their impact.

What you’ll be doing - Your Key Responsibilities

  • Enter and update data accurately in our database
  • Review records for completeness and accuracy
  • Identify and correct data inconsistencies
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection requirements
  • Assist with compiling information for regular reports and presentations
  • Support the preparation of monitoring, evaluation, and impact reports
  • Generate basic data summaries, charts, and statistics when required

Reimbursement for Travel Expenses

We understand that volunteering requires a commitment of time and effort, and we want to ensure that your experience is as accessible as possible. As such, we offer reimbursement for travel expenses incurred while attending your volunteer shifts, and lunch for shifts over 4 hours as detailed in the Volunteer handbook.

Who We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for a dependable, trustworthy person who is comfortable handling confidential information, with a willingness to learn and contribute ideas for improving processes and enthusiastic about supporting charitable and community focused work. Ideal candidates will have:

  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet agreed deadlines
  • Good written communication skills
  • Previous experience with data entry, administration, reporting, or analytics
