Company Description
Music Relief Foundation (MRF) is a registered charity based in Croydon, South London, dedicated to empowering young people and grassroots communities for over a decade. MRF combines the heart of a community charity with the mindset of a social enterprise, using music as a core tool to improve wellbeing, resilience, confidence, and hope. The organisation provides opportunities that are often out of reach for many individuals, actively amplifying the voices of those who are underrepresented. Its Music School, launched in November 2021, offers fee-paying instrument lessons, band sessions, and choir participation for people aged 5 through adulthood. MRF also runs tailored personal and social development workshops, outreach programmes, and training and arts support services across schools and communities in the UK.
Role Description
The Volunteer Director of Corporate Partnerships, Special Events & Income Generation will lead the development and delivery of revenue-generating initiatives that support MRF’s mission. This contract, on-site role based in Croydon involves identifying and cultivating corporate partners, designing strategic sponsorship packages, and managing ongoing partnership relationships. The role includes planning and overseeing special fundraising events, coordinating with internal teams and volunteers, and ensuring that events align with MRF’s brand and objectives. The Director will research new income streams, prepare proposals and pitches, and track performance against fundraising targets. Day-to-day responsibilities also include stakeholder engagement, reporting to senior leadership on partnership and event outcomes, and ensuring compliance with charity fundraising standards.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience in corporate partnerships and strategic partnerships, with the ability to build and sustain mutually beneficial relationships.
- Proven skills in new business development and sales, including prospecting, pitching, and closing revenue-generating opportunities.
- Knowledge of philanthropy and charity fundraising practices, including corporate giving, sponsorships, and grant or donor relations.
- Strong event planning and project management abilities, with experience delivering special events or campaigns from concept to completion.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work on-site in Croydon, collaborate effectively with a diverse team, and manage volunteers and community partners.
- Understanding of or interest in youth development, grassroots community work, and the arts or music sector.
- Previous experience in a nonprofit or social enterprise environment and familiarity with UK charity regulations is highly beneficial.
