Job Description

Do you like driving?

Do you like meeting new people?

Do you want to give back to your community in your spare time?

If so, you may wish to apply to become a volunteer driver for Avon and Somerset Constabulary.

Our volunteer drivers enable our operational policing teams to have what they need delivered, where it is needed and at a time that enables them to support victims of crime. You don’t need to have any previous volunteering experience, just a friendly attitude and a full driving licence.

You will visit different locations within the Avon and Somerset area and your role will be to drive one of our fleet vehicles to facilitate the transport of property, equipment, and other items between locations and also to drive officers and staff to and from appointments when needed. You may also assist the Transport Services Department with collection and delivery of vehicles. You need to be able to undertake tasks unsupervised, organising your own schedule to maximise the best use of the vehicle and your time.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
