NGO Description
Ramzunā Languages is a non-profit organization that provides free, personalised English, German, and French lessons to Palestinian learners aged 13 and over, whether residing in Palestine or displaced to Egypt. The program pairs learners with educators or conversation partners for weekly one-to-one, small-group, or asynchronous sessions tailored to each student’s goals, pace, and interests. Ramzunā Languages is grounded in the belief that education is a human right and should be accessible to everyone.

Role Description

The Volunteer English Teacher role is a voluntary, remote position focused on supporting Palestinian learners in developing their English language skills.
- Teachers are required to volunteer for one 90-minute lesson a week (+45 minutes preparation) for at least 3 months.
- Teachers are required to undergo self-paced trauma-informed training (1.5/2 hours) before they can start teaching with Ramzunā.
Qualifications
- Native English Speakers or
- Advanced level in English
- CELTA, TEFL or any relevant teaching qualifications
- Ability to plan lessons, adapt materials, and use creative approaches to support different learning styles and language levels.
- Demonstrated empathy, cultural sensitivity, and commitment to educational equity.
- Strong organizational skills, reliability in keeping scheduled sessions, and the ability to volunteer for at least 3 months.
- Previous experience with refugee, displaced, or conflict-affected communities is an asset but not required.
