Overview Are you passionate about making a real difference in your community? Do you want to help create a safer, more supportive environment for people affected by drug use? Join Change Grow Live as a Family Safeguarding Recovery Support Volunteer.
With this role you’ll be working as part of the Family Safeguarding Team, based in Lancaster and the local area.
The team supports service users with drug and alcohol issues, and carry out visits in our service users own homes, and within other multiagency settings such as hospitals, GP surgeries etc.
No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key.
We will support you in this volunteering role by ensuring that you receive regular supervision and have someone on site who you can approach for day-to-day advice and guidance. In return for the time, you give you will receive valuable training and gain experience and skills. You’ll be making a real difference too.

Responsibilities
- Be a point of contact, greeting visitors with warmth and respect.
- Support our family safeguarding team in delivering harm reduction interventions around opiate and or alcohol use.
- Delivering Needle and syringe exchange.
- Provide non-judgmental advice on safer drug use, including injecting, overdose prevention, and emergency response.
- Providing Naloxone and safe storage boxes to our service users.
- Completing BBV testing.
- Supporting our service users in attending medical assessments and reviews.
- Multi agency working and signposting to other agencies.
- Supporting the team in case management, recording notes on our case management system.
- Supporting our service users in meeting their support plans, working towards their future goals and aspirations.
