We are looking for a voluntary Finance Director to join our Board and help guide the next chapter of our work at the intersection of food, homelessness, health, community, nature and climate resilience. We believe these things cannot be separated. Approximately 4 hours a month, working with our Finance Manager and accountancy firm for strategic oversight and attending monthly board meetings.

Based in West Cornwall
Our Board meets monthly, with some additional involvement between meetings when needed.

Growing Links CIC is looking for a voluntary Finance Director to join our Board and help guide the next chapter of our work in West Cornwall. Growing Links works at the intersection of food, homelessness, health, community, nature and climate resilience. We believe these things cannot be separated.
We are looking for someone with strong financial knowledge who is also, fundamentally, passionate about people. Good finance is not only about protecting money. It is about helping an organisation protect its purpose, make courageous decisions and build something that can last.

This is a voluntary Director role, offered in service to our community. We are looking for someone who wants to contribute their experience and skills to something meaningful and help shape the long-term future of Growing Links.
As the climate changes and pressure grows on food systems, household finances and public services, strong communities will become increasingly important. We are building a future where nobody is left behind – particularly those who are already experiencing poverty, homelessness, isolation or inequality.
Our new Finance Director would help our Board to:
- Provide strategic financial oversight and constructive challenge
- Help us understand risk, sustainability and long-term financial planning
- Support good governance as Growing Links grows and develops
- Help us make the best use of grants, contracts, earned income and community investment
- Ensure our financial decisions remain aligned with our social and environmental mission
- Bring an independent voice, curiosity and sound judgement to Board discussions

You might come from finance, accountancy, business, social enterprise, charity finance or another field where you have developed strong financial and strategic skills. You do not need to know everything. What matters to us is that you understand good financial governance, are willing to ask thoughtful questions, and share our belief that organisations should serve people, community and planet.
We particularly want someone who understands the scale of the challenge posed by climate change and why resilient local food systems, healthy ecosystems and strong communities matter.
