Volunteer Fingerprinting Service Support

The Fingerprint Bureau are looking for a number of volunteers to support with the smooth running of their weekly fingerprinting service for members of the public at Headquarters South (Kidlington then moving to Bicester in 2027). This service supports individuals requiring fingerprints to be taken for non-criminal purposes, such as overseas police checks and visa applications. They are seeking volunteers on a rota basis, each Thursday, to support the Fingerprint Bureau Technicians in ensuring a smooth and efficient service.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Welcoming and checking in customers for their appointments
  • Verifying proof of identification
  • Updating the Fingerprint Appointment Spreadsheet
  • Issuing VAT receipts as needed

This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a professional environment, interact with the public, and support an important service.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

As a volunteer within the police service, you will be subjected to a level of police vetting. The level will be dependent upon the role and it’s access requirements. With the higher levels of vetting, applicants could be asked to provide details of family members, partner, partner’s parents and co-residents, as well as additional information regarding their own personal circumstances. This process is required to ensure that Thames Valley Police comply with the legislation of the Vetting Code of Practice.

Whilst we endeavour to complete all vetting within 30 working days of receipt of vetting forms, unfortunately this is not always the case due to operational demand and back-logs, and could take considerably longer.
