Organisation Description
Bath Arsenal Juniors Football Club has been proudly developing young players in Bath since 1989, offering a welcoming environment where children can start their football journey. The club supports players from ages 4–5 up to Under-18s, focusing on confidence, enjoyment, and growth on and off the pitch. With over 300 players and a team of FA-qualified coaches and volunteers, Bath Arsenal Juniors is committed to safe, inclusive, and supportive football for all. The club works closely with local businesses, sponsors, schools, volunteers, and the wider community to create meaningful opportunities for young people. Bath Arsenal Juniors values not only good footballers, but also the development of resilient, respectful, and responsible individuals.
Role Description
The Volunteer Football Coach is a part-time unpaid position assisting existing club players, supporting the training and development of youth players across various age groups.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Planning and delivering engaging training sessions
- Coaching teams during matches
- Providing constructive feedback to help players improve skills and confidence
- Promoting a safe, inclusive, and positive environment that encourages learning, teamwork, and respect, in line with the club’s values
- Communicating effectively with players, parents, and club officials
- Attending regular meetings
- Coordinating with other coaches and volunteers
- Helping represent Bath Arsenal Juniors within the local community
- Supporting club events, tournaments, and outreach activities
Qualifications
- Strong Football Coaching and Coaching skills or a desire to build them, with the ability or desire to support player development across different age groups
- Solid Football knowledge, including fundamentals, tactics, and age-appropriate training methods
- Clear and respectful Communication skills, especially when working with children, parents, and fellow volunteers
- Training skills, including session planning, drills design, and safe practice management
- Relevant FA coaching qualifications or equivalent certifications are highly beneficial - But club will provide funding for this
- Experience working with children or in youth sports, with a commitment to safeguarding and child welfare, is strongly preferred but not essential - The club will perform due diligence and CRB checks before confirming you as a coach
- Ability to work collaboratively within a volunteer-led club, demonstrating reliability, patience, and a positive attitude
- Availability to coach on evenings and weekends as required by training schedules and match fixtures
