RIYO.ORG Volunteer Opportunity
RIYO.ORG is seeking a volunteer to strengthen our fundraising and organisational capacity. You will help identify funding opportunities, develop fundraising approaches, build donor and partner contacts, and strengthen systems supporting our community work in Kenya.
What difference will you make?
This role will help RIYO move from relying heavily on individual effort towards a more organised and sustainable approach to fundraising and partnership development. The volunteer will help us identify opportunities, build a structured funding pipeline, improve follow-up and develop relationships with potential donors and partners. This will strengthen RIYO’s ability to support its community-focused work in Kenya and develop longer-term partnerships. The volunteer will also help build organisational knowledge and systems that can continue to benefit RIYO after individual funding opportunities have ended.

Ideally, the volunteer will have experience in one or more of the following:
- Grant or proposal writing
- Fundraising research and identifying funding opportunities
- Donor or supporter engagement
- Charity, NGO or community-sector fundraising
- Partnership or network development
- Fundraising strategy and planning
- Research, communications or project development
Strong research, writing, organisation and communication skills are important. We would particularly value someone who can work independently, identify opportunities and turn ideas into practical actions.
Previous experience in international development, Africa, food security, livelihoods, environment or community development would be useful but is not essential.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is committed, practical and willing to work with RIYO's Director to build a sustainable fundraising approach. We welcome someone with relevant professional experience who wants to use their skills to support a growing small charity.

RIYO.ORG is looking for a committed volunteer to help strengthen our fundraising and organisational capacity as we develop our work in Kenya.
The volunteer will help us:
- Identify suitable grant, donor and partnership opportunities.
- Research and maintain a pipeline of potential funders and supporters.
- Develop practical fundraising approaches and proposals.
- Help build relationships with donors, development organisations, foundations and relevant networks.
- Strengthen RIYO’s fundraising systems, records and follow-up processes.
- Support communications and materials that present RIYO clearly to potential partners and funders.
- Contribute ideas on how a small charity can build sustainable income and partnerships.
The role will involve working directly with RIYO’s Director and can be carried out remotely. We are looking for someone who can contribute practical experience, initiative and strategic thinking. The volunteer does not need to do everything themselves; the aim is to help RIYO develop a stronger and more sustainable fundraising foundation.
