Role Title: Fundraising Support Volunteer

Role and Objectives

We are a nonprofit organisation seeking a self-sufficient and thorough Intern to start working for us immediately. You will be dedicated heavily on fundraising support and development, including database management for individual, corporate and institutional donors. At times you may be required to source and extract valuable market information to benefit our organisation.

We recognize that the key to success is a strong and cohesive team that works through shared values to achieve our mission.

By the end of this opportunity, you will have gained experience in fundraising fundamentals, prospect research, database management and a holistic overview of the work of a non-profit organisation.

This position is an unpaid internship and requires a minimum of 20 hours a week for 6 months. This position is fully remote.

Duties and Responsibilities

Fundraising tasks:

  • Support the research of potential corporate and trust prospects
  • Assist with donor outreach and cultivation
  • Support donor data analysis
  • Support a concerted data entry and management effort to ensure accuracy and improve the effectiveness of donors databases
  • Support the ATCF overview of philanthropic trends and fundraising opportunities
  • Participate in outline program development and fundraising strategy
  • Conduct research on networks we can be part of
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Strong background and experience in fundraising
  • Excellent organisational skills, ability to multitask and navigate multiple applications/tools, and to generate a high volume/high quality pipeline under time restraints
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills, creativity and initiative to follow through on projects
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Flexibility and willing to support multiple functions/members of team
  • High level of knowledge of Microsoft Office/Google Docs and Sheets
  • Responsible, dependable and willing to learn
  • Strong desire to help people and enthusiasm to work in a multicultural setting
  • Interest in the non-profit sector
  • Volunteer experience (preferred)

  • Works with: Fundraising Researcher and Analyst
