Love Being Outdoors? Enjoy fresh air, getting your hands a little muddy, or simply being around nature? Join our volunteer gardening team and help keep our hospice gardens calm, colourful and welcoming for patients, families and staff.
Whether you’re an experienced gardener or simply love spending time among flowers and nature, we’d love to welcome you to our team
Availability: Fridays
Time: Anytime between 10am and 1pm
Location: Marie Curie Hospice, Marie Curie Drive, Newcastle Upon Tyne NE4 6SS
Criteria: Minimum 16 years of age.
What you’ll be doing
- Planting seasonal flowers and keeping beds looking their best
- Pruning, watering and weeding
- Mowing grass and sweeping paths
- Clearing garden waste
- Helping keep the garden spaces tidy and peaceful
This role is great if you:
- Enjoy being outside and staying active
- Like working creatively to enhance our garden spaces
- Are happy pitching in as part of a team
- Want to make a difference and do something rewarding that helps others
