Head of Marketing (Leadership Team)
Volunteer Leadership Role
Closing Date: 7th October 2026
Your Pride in London
Pride in London is London’s volunteer-powered LGBTQIA+ force. We unite our communities, amplify their diversity and stand together against inequality.
While progress has been made, LGBTQIA+ people continue to experience discrimination and inequality in the UK and around the world. Pride remains both a celebration and a protest: a visible expression of who we are and a powerful platform for advancing equality, dignity and freedom for all.
Around 150 volunteers work throughout the year to deliver Pride in London and our wider programme of activity. We want our organisation, our leadership and our events to reflect the full diversity of the communities we serve.
We particularly welcome applications from people who are currently underrepresented within our volunteer leadership, including women, trans and non-binary people, disabled people and people from Black, Asian and other global majority communities. We also welcome applications from people with a broad range of lived experiences and professional backgrounds.
If you share our values of visibility, unity and equality, we would love you to consider joining us.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced, creative and forward-thinking marketing professional to join Pride in London as our volunteer Head of Marketing.
This is a senior volunteer leadership role responsible for developing and delivering Pride in London’s marketing strategy, protecting and strengthening our brand and ensuring that our campaigns reflect the diversity, experiences and priorities of LGBTQIA+ communities.
Working closely with the CEO, Head of Communications, Head of Community Engagement, Partnerships Team, Events Team and other volunteer leaders, you will turn Pride in London’s strategy and purpose into clear, compelling and inclusive campaigns that reach and engage our communities, audiences, partners and allies.
Our marketing must be community-informed, insight-led and grounded in Pride in London’s values of visibility, unity and equality. You will ensure that our work recognises Pride as both a celebration and a protest and that the voices and experiences of LGBTQIA+ communities remain central to how our brand is presented.
You will lead Pride in London’s volunteer marketing team and coordinate external creative agencies, designers, researchers and other suppliers where required. You will also establish clear objectives and measures so that we can understand the reach, engagement and impact of our marketing activity.
This role requires someone who can combine strategic thinking and creative ambition with the practical ability to turn ideas into well-planned, inclusive and effective campaigns.
Time commitment
This volunteer role requires a regular commitment of approximately 6–8 hours each week. We will work with the successful candidate to agree a working pattern that is manageable alongside their other commitments.
There will be periods during the year, particularly during campaign development, campaign launches and the lead-up to Pride in London, when additional availability may be required. This may include attending planning meetings, reviewing time-sensitive creative work and supporting activity during key event-delivery periods.
Wherever possible, these increased requirements will be planned and communicated in advance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
