Join our Horticulture Team and help keep Hertfordshire Zoo looking its best!
Do you have a genuine interest in plants, gardening, landscaping or the outdoors? We're looking for enthusiastic volunteer horticulturalists to join our team and help maintain and develop the beautiful gardens and landscaped areas across Hertfordshire Zoo.
This is a hands-on role for people who enjoy physical outdoor work and aren't afraid to roll up their sleeves, get muddy and get stuck in. Whether you have horticultural experience or simply a passion for gardening and the natural environment, we'd love to hear from you.

What We're Looking For
- A genuine interest in horticulture, gardening, landscaping or plant care.
- Physically fit individuals who enjoy active, practical work.
- Happy to work outdoors in all weather conditions throughout the year.
- Reliable, hardworking team players with a positive attitude.
- Willingness to learn, take direction and support a variety of horticultural projects.
- Not afraid of hard work or getting their hands dirty.
- Available to volunteer on a regular basis on any day of the week.
Typical Tasks May Include
- Planting and maintaining seasonal displays.
- Weeding, pruning, watering and general garden maintenance.
- Assisting with landscaping projects and habitat improvements.
- Keeping horticultural areas clean, tidy and presentable.
- Supporting the wider Horticulture Team with day-to-day tasks.

Requirements
- Aged 18 or over
- Able to make your own way to the zoo as no public transport is available (Location: Hertfordshire Zoo, White Stubbs Lane, Broxbourne, EN10 7QA)
- Available for long-term volunteering
