PCE is looking for a creative and enthusiastic Marketing & Digital Engagement Officer to help us raise awareness, grow our online presence and inspire more people to support our work.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone at the beginning of their marketing career, a recent graduate, student, career changer or someone looking to gain practical experience with real responsibility. You’ll have the opportunity to lead digital campaigns, create engaging content, analyse results and see the tangible impact of your work within a growing charity.
Every volunteer recruited, every donation received and every family supported could begin with a campaign you’ve created.
About the Role
Working alongside our trustees and volunteers, you’ll take ownership of PCE’s marketing and digital engagement activity, helping to raise our profile, grow our online community and strengthen our brand across the local area.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be encouraged to bring fresh ideas, experiment with new approaches and build a portfolio of work that demonstrates real outcomes.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop and deliver a marketing and digital engagement plan aligned to PCE’s objectives.
- Manage and grow our social media channels through engaging and consistent content.
- Create graphics, videos, stories, reels and written content to showcase our impact.
- Plan and deliver digital campaigns to recruit volunteers, attract supporters and promote fundraising initiatives.
- Produce email newsletters and supporter communications.
- Keep our website accurate, engaging and up to date.
- Capture content at community events and represent PCE where appropriate.
- Ensure all digital content reflects PCE’s values and brand identity.
- Monitor engagement, website traffic and campaign performance, using insights to improve results.
- Identify opportunities for local media coverage, partnerships and community engagement.
- Work collaboratively with trustees to support fundraising, awareness campaigns and organisational priorities.

We’re looking for someone who…
- Is passionate about making a difference in their community.
- Has an interest in marketing, digital communications or social media.
- Is creative, proactive and full of ideas.
- Enjoys writing and creating engaging digital content.
- Is confident using social media platforms.
- Can work independently and manage their own workload.
- Wants to learn, develop and build an impressive portfolio.
Previous charity experience isn’t essential. Enthusiasm, creativity and a willingness to make a difference are far more important.
Experience with Canva, Meta Business Suite, Mailchimp, WordPress, Google Analytics or basic video editing would be an advantage, but support and guidance will be available.

Time Commitment
Approximately 3–5 hours per week, worked flexibly around your availability, with occasional attendance at community events.
Location
Hybrid – primarily remote, with occasional meetings and events in Poole.
