Hours: Any 2 days or more of your choice – Monday to Saturday – 10.00am to 2.00pm
Contract Length: VOLUNTEERING ONGOING
Holidays: Re-imbursement will be given for the following: Max of £4 per day – Lunch cost Travel Expense – Daily Bus Ticket

Responsible To: Retail Team Lead
Accountable To: Queens Hall Action on Poverty

Job Summary
To undertake merchandising of the stock, regularly changing window displays, take inspiration from stock or local/national events in order to ensure displays promote sales and any other tasks given to support our charity shop run as effectively as possible. Role to be carried out – Any 2 days or more of your choice – Monday to Saturday – 10.00am to 2.00pm. Re-imbursement will be given for the following: Max of £4 per day – Lunch cost Travel Expense – Daily Bus Ticket

Job Purpose
Main Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- To undertake merchandising of the stock which can include, clothes, shoes, jewellery, bric-a-brac, kitchenware, furniture, books and linens – often one-off items.
- To regularly change window displays, taking inspiration from stock or local/national events in order to ensure displays promote sales
- Design and implement visually appealing in-store displays, promotions, and layouts to capture customer interest.
- To assist with the display of general stock, so that the shop looks inviting, clean, tidy and easy to shop
- Assisting and serving customers, providing a high standard of customer service
- Helping with stock processing, including sorting.
- Checking, pricing and hanging.
- Cash handling and accurate operation of the till, once training has taken place.
- Keeping the shop premises clean and tidy.
- Working positively as a team alongside the other staff and volunteers.
- Greeting shoppers
- Work on the till and card machine

All volunteers will be required to complete a DBS check, the volunteering role will commence, once this has been processed and cleared and an Induction has been completed. The cost and organisation of the DBS check will be covered by The Brick.
