Overview
Use Your Experience to Inspire Recovery and Change Lives
At Change Grow Live, we believe that recovery is possible for everyone.
As a Peer Support Volunteer, you will use your lived experience, understanding, and compassion to inspire hope and support people on their recovery journey.
Responsibilities
- Working alongside our Building Recovery in Communities Team, you will help service users build confidence, develop recovery capital, and connect with opportunities that support long-term recovery.
- You will play a key role in promoting visible recovery, challenging stigma, and encouraging people to engage with groups, activities, training, volunteering, and community events.
- You will be a positive role model, demonstrating that change is possible while motivating others to achieve their goals and reach their full potential.
- Whether supporting community events, promoting recovery-focused activities, gathering service user feedback, or simply being there to encourage someone taking their first steps towards recovery, you will make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

We're looking for people who:
- Have lived experience of drug or alcohol use, or a good understanding of substance misuse and recovery
- Are empathetic, non-judgemental, and encouraging
- Have good communication skills or are willing to develop them
- Can work effectively with others
- Understand the importance of confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Are passionate about supporting others to achieve positive change
