Role Description
The Volunteer Physiotherapist role at Guildford Football Club is a part-time, hybrid position based in Guildford, with some tasks that can be completed from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Assessing and treating players’ musculoskeletal injuries
- Providing pitch-side support during training sessions and match days
- Implementing injury prevention programs
- Maintaining accurate clinical records
- Coordinating rehabilitation plans
- Communicating regularly with coaches and players about fitness status and return-to-play timelines

The Volunteer Physiotherapist will also assist in developing educational materials for players on warm-ups, recovery, and general physical wellbeing, contributing to a safe and performance-focused environment.

Qualifications
- Relevant physiotherapy qualification or degree, with eligibility to practice and strong knowledge of musculoskeletal assessment and treatment
- Experience or strong interest in sports physiotherapy, ideally in football or team sports, including injury prevention and rehabilitation program design
- Ability to provide pitch-side care, manage acute injuries, and make safe, informed decisions under time pressure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with players, coaches, and club staff in a collaborative environment
- Organizational skills for managing clinical notes, scheduling sessions, and balancing on-site and remote responsibilities
- Commitment to safeguarding, player welfare, and inclusive practices; willingness to adhere to club policies and relevant professional standards
- Availability for agreed training sessions and match days in Guildford, with flexibility to support remote tasks such as planning and documentation
- Previous experience in a voluntary or community sports setting is beneficial, but motivated early-career professionals are also encouraged to apply.
