Role Description

The Volunteer Physiotherapist will provide day-to-day physiotherapy support to players, including injury assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation planning. This part-time hybrid role is based in Guildford, with attendance required for training sessions, matchdays, and key club activities, while certain administrative and planning tasks can be completed from home. The Volunteer Physiotherapist will uphold professional standards of care, confidentiality, and safeguarding at all times.

This role is voluntary with no expenses being paid.

Qualifications

  • Relevant physiotherapy qualification (e.g., BSc Physiotherapy or equivalent) and current professional registration where applicable.
  • Experience in musculoskeletal assessment, sports injury management, and rehabilitation planning within a team or sports environment.
  • Knowledge of injury prevention, strength and conditioning principles, and safe return-to-play protocols.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with players, coaches, and club staff.
  • Ability to maintain accurate medical documentation, respect confidentiality, and adhere to safeguarding and ethical standards.
  • Capacity to work part time in a hybrid arrangement, including evening or weekend availability for training sessions and matches in Guildford.
  • Up-to-date first aid or sports trauma certification (e.g., pitch-side first aid) is highly beneficial.
  • Previous experience volunteering or working in football or other team sports is an advantage.
