Baguley Athletic FC is an ambitious, FA Charter Standard Club on a serious upward trajectory. To take our recruitment to the next level, we have structured our backroom team with a dedicated Head of Player Recruitment. We are now building out a scouting network underneath them to ensure no talent in the South Manchester area goes unnoticed.

Working directly under the guidance of our Head of Player Recruitment, you will be assigned specific leagues, regions, or individual matches to track. Your primary focus will be identifying open-age talent capable of making an immediate impact on our First Team or Development match day squads.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Targeted Scouting: Executing specific scouting assignments handed down by the Head of Player Recruitment.
  • Player Assessment: Attending competitive local matches to evaluate technical quality, physical attributes, and in-game character.
  • Structured Reporting: Compiling concise, objective player reports using the club's standard criteria and submitting them directly to the club's database for the Head of Player Recruitment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
