Role Description
The Podcast Creator will plan, produce, and deliver raw audio for podcast episodes that reflect and advance the mission of Autistic Culture Institute.
Responsibilities
- Naming your show
- Researching topics to cover
- Developing episode outlines
- Scripting content
- Recording interviews or discussions with co-hosts, guests, and contributors
- Collaborating with team members on content strategy, branding, and promotion of episodes across digital platforms
Note: The role does not require you to edit audio, integrate music or sound design as appropriate, or do marketing.
Qualifications
- Lived experience of being an Autistic person.
- Ability to research, conceptualize, and script podcast episodes with clarity and empathy.
- Understanding of or interest in neurodiversity, autistic culture, and inclusive, non-stigmatizing language. (You must actually like Autistic people.)
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines with support and accommodations.
- Openness to feedback, commitment to ethical storytelling, and willingness to support accessibility

This is a remote volunteer role, and the schedule and workload will be determined in consultation with the institute to match the needs of the creator.
