Coordinate approved projects and deadlines across S.W.U.G.
A developing Portsmouth community organisation creating inclusive opportunities for young people. Primarily remote/hybrid; flexible commitment with consistent weekly coordination.
What difference will you make?
Clear project ownership, deadlines and early escalation will help approved work progress and build S.W.U.G.’s operational capacity. The role supports the development of inclusive opportunities for young people while keeping a clear evidence trail and reducing routine project-management administration for the CEO.
What are we looking for?
Essential:
- At least three years of professional experience in project or programme coordination or management, gained in paid or voluntary work
- Organised and dependable
- Confident coordinating people and deadlines
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Able to use digital project-management systems
- Comfortable holding volunteers accountable professionally
- Understands confidentiality and boundaries

What will you be doing?
The Volunteer Project Manager turns approved plans into organised, accountable delivery across S.W.U.G. This is an organisation-wide coordination role, not automatically a School Edition field-delivery role.
- Maintain project plans, milestones, deadlines and dependencies
- Coordinate team activity in approved Notion, Google Drive and shared-calendar systems
- Follow up assigned work and identify blockers and capacity risks
- Prepare concise progress updates and escalation points for the Founder & CEO
- Coordinate School Edition readiness alongside the Youth Engagement Lead without taking over safeguarding responsibilities
- Support approved funding, partnership, media and operational workstreams where coordination is needed
- Record evidence and completed work in organisational systems and work alongside existing project coordination support

The role may coordinate work already approved by the CEO. Expenditure, funding submissions, external commitments, partnership agreements, delivery dates, public statements and strategic changes require CEO approval. Safeguarding decisions remain with the designated safeguarding function. S.W.U.G. School Edition is in preparation; no school delivery is confirmed.
