Help a UK not-for-profit CIC refine and strengthen a live social-impact platform across web and mobile
Work with React, TypeScript and React Native to improve UX, responsiveness, accessibility and production quality.
What difference will you make?
Time to Give Network is at an important stage in the development of its next-generation platform. The core product already exists and is in UAT, but additional experienced front-end capacity would help us improve the quality, usability and reliability of the experience before wider launch.
This role would help us
- resolve front-end issues identified through UAT;
- improve responsiveness, accessibility and consistency across devices;
- translate existing design work into polished, production-ready interfaces;
- strengthen our React / TypeScript implementation;
- support React Native and mobile development;
- reduce regression risk through better front-end testing; and
- improve the overall experience for people using the platform to support charitable causes.
We are rebuilding the platform to support TGN’s next stage of growth, including expansion into the United States. A stronger and more intuitive front end is therefore critical it directly affects how easily users can register, discover opportunities, understand Offers and move through the platform.
The contribution of an experienced volunteer could have a very visible impact because this is not a speculative project. It is an existing social-impact product with real users, real workflows and a live roadmap. The right person would help us move more quickly through refinement and launch while reducing pressure on the core technical team.
Ultimately, improving the front-end experience helps TGN make it easier for professionals to turn their time, experience and expertise into charitable donations.

What are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced front-end engineer who can produce polished, production-quality work rather than simply functional interfaces.
The strongest candidates are likely to have
- Strong professional React and TypeScript experience.
- Experience building and maintaining production web applications.
- Evidence of creating polished, responsive user interfaces.
- Experience with React Native or mobile development.
- Confidence working from Figma or other design artefacts.
- Good understanding of component architecture, state management, forms and accessibility.
- Strong awareness of browser and device behaviour.
- Confidence using Git/GitHub and collaborating asynchronously.
- The ability to diagnose UI and UAT issues independently.
- Good communication around trade-offs, blockers and implementation decisions.
Useful Additional Experience Includes
- Expo / EAS.
- Radix, shadcn or similar component libraries.
- Playwright or other front-end testing.
- API integration.
- Performance optimisation.
- Cross-platform mobile deployment.
You do not need experience in every area. We are primarily looking for strong front-end judgement, attention to detail and the ability to take ownership of meaningful work without needing extensive day-to-day supervision.
This role may particularly suit an experienced developer between roles, a consultant with spare capacity, someone on a career break or sabbatical, or an engineer who wants to contribute professional skills to a social-impact product

What will you be doing?
Time to Give Network (TGN) is a UK Community Interest Company building a skills-based charitable fundraising platform. Professionals make selected time, experience and expertise available in support of a charity they choose. Another professional can request the interaction; the TimeGiver decides whether to accept; and, when an approved opportunity is secured, the donation goes to the TimeGiver’s chosen charity. The TimeGiver receives no personal payment.

Our next-generation platform is already in UAT. We are looking for an experienced volunteer React / Front-End Engineer who can contribute to an existing product and take ownership of clearly defined work with limited day-to-day supervision.
Depending on your experience and interests, you may
- Build and refine React / TypeScript interfaces against existing product requirements and design direction.
- Contribute to React Native mobile development.
- Work with Expo / EAS where relevant to our mobile delivery.
- Translate Figma designs into responsive, production-ready interfaces.
- Improve interaction quality, forms, states, validation and accessibility.
- Resolve front-end defects and UAT feedback efficiently.
- Improve cross-device and browser responsiveness.
- Work with our existing component-based design system.
- Collaborate with back-end contributors on APIs and integration issues.
- Improve front-end test coverage and help prevent regressions.
This is not a training placement or a request to build a prototype from scratch. We are looking for someone who can work within an existing codebase, understand incomplete product detail, make sensible implementation decisions and know when clarification is needed.
The platform is being rebuilt to support TGN’s next stage of growth, including expansion from the UK into the United States.
