Responsibilities

Volunteers are essential to Change Grow Live, bringing valuable skills, lived experience for some, and passion that strengthen our teams, improve outcomes, help us break down barriers and support meaningful change for the people who use our services. We are committed to valuing, supporting, and developing our volunteers.
As a Recovery Support Volunteer you will be working closely with Recovery Coordinators, assisting them in their caseload management and supporting people who use our services through all aspects of their treatment journey. This can include completing assessments, risk management plans, service user plans and undertaking one to one and group work.

You will be an important member of our team and can get involved with many aspects of what is offered by the service. You will receive training and support and work towards holding a small caseload appropriate to your level of experience.
Key Activities
- Support the Recovery Coordinator to carry out comprehensive assessments, triage, risk assessments, risk management plans and to contribute to the development of individual Service User Plans
- Provide 1:1 key work sessions, including harm reduction advice and recovery planning
- Contribute to our day-to-day service delivery, including duty support
- Work alongside clinicians and other specialised roles to support people who use our services
- Work with partner agencies and other stakeholders to support people who use our services
- Support and empower people who use our services to engage in recovery activities both within Change Grow Live and the wider community and achieve their goals
- Work towards holding a small caseload
- Document information on case management systems
- Help support people who use our services to provide us with feedback on their views and experiences

*Please note that, if successful in this recruitment process, you will be required to attend the following mandatory training dates:
- Tuesday 3rd November 2026 - Induction 10am to 4pm
- Tuesday 10th November 2026 - Boundaries and Confidentiality 10am to 4pm
- Tuesday 17th November 2026 - Drug and Alcohol Awareness 10am to 4pm
- Tuesday 24th November - Harm Minimisation and Naloxone 10am to 4pm
- Tuesday 1st December - Shared Lived Experience Framework 10am to 1pm*
