Help our Thamesmead charity grow a strong and reliable volunteer team.
Support recruitment, advertising, applicant communication, onboarding, and volunteer engagement across our media, community, and church activities.
What difference will you make?
Volunteers are essential to the work of Royal Priesthood Pentecostal Church (UK).
As our church, media, and community activities develop, one of our greatest challenges is ensuring that we have enough reliable and appropriately skilled people to support them.
At present, much of the responsibility for identifying, recruiting, and following up potential volunteers falls on a small number of existing team members who are also responsible for delivering other areas of the organisation's work.
A dedicated Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator would help us develop a more sustainable approach.
Your contribution would help us
- Reach a wider pool of potential volunteers.
- Recruit people with skills that match genuine organisational needs.
- Improve communication with applicants.
- Create a clearer and more professional onboarding process.
- Reduce the number of promising applicants who are lost through lack of follow-up.
- Improve volunteer retention and engagement.
- Develop relationships with colleges, universities, and local volunteering organisations.
- Build stronger media, technical, community, and operational teams.
- Reduce pressure on existing volunteers and church leadership.
- Increase our capacity to deliver charitable and community activities.
Ultimately, strengthening our volunteer base would allow the organisation to do considerably more for the people and communities we serve.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who is organised, approachable, proactive, and confident communicating with different types of people.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
