Role Description

The Volunteer School Admin supports the smooth daily operation of Avanti House Secondary School’s administrative functions. This full-time, on-site role in Stanmore involves assisting with reception duties, handling phone and email inquiries, maintaining records, and supporting data entry and filing tasks. The role includes preparing and organizing documents and resources for staff, assisting with timetables and lesson-related materials, and coordinating meetings and appointments. The Volunteer School Admin will collaborate closely with teachers, school leaders, and support staff to ensure effective communication, efficient office procedures, and a welcoming environment for learners, families, and visitors.

  • Strong Communication skills to interact effectively with learners, families, staff, and external partners.
  • Proficiency in Administrative Assistance tasks, including record-keeping, scheduling, filing, and use of office software.
  • Understanding of Education and Lesson Planning processes to support teaching staff with classroom and curriculum-related administration.
  • Awareness of Educational Leadership practices to collaborate constructively with school leadership and support school-wide initiatives.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Comfort working in a values-led, faith-informed environment that is inclusive and respectful of diverse backgrounds.
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting, or in an administrative role, is beneficial but not essential.
  • Basic IT skills, including familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets, email, and database systems.
