Lancashire County Council is expanding its community support befriending service and is looking for three Volunteer Officers to help support individuals experiencing social isolation and vulnerability.

You will coordinate volunteers and deliver a structured, person-centred service that helps people build connections, improve wellbeing, and maintain independence.

This is a rewarding role where no two days are the same.

Key responsibilities

  • Recruit, Coordinate and support volunteers delivering befriending support
  • Manage referrals and match volunteers with individuals following a detailed home assessment to ensure the safeguarding of client placements
  • Maintain accurate records and monitor outcomes
  • Ensure safeguarding, boundaries and quality standards are maintained

You will be required to provide a car for use in connection with duties of this post, which will be at various locations throughout Lancashire, additional detail will be provided at interview, and must be insured for business use.
