Dean Farm Trust Volunteer Opportunity
Dean Farm Trust is seeking experienced specialist volunteers to help shape the future of our 32-acre animal sanctuary. Use your professional skills in a hands-on role to strengthen a growing charity, helping secure a sustainable future for 200 rescued animals with a home for life.

As a small but growing charity, we have reached a point where specialist expertise is essential to help us build a stronger, more sustainable organisation. By volunteering your professional skills, you will help develop the financial resilience, systems, processes, and strategic capacity needed to support the Sanctuary for years to come.
This is about much more than supporting an individual project. Stronger financial planning, successful grant funding, improved communications, and better organisational systems all contribute to a charity that is better equipped to meet future challenges, respond to changing circumstances, and continue delivering the highest standards of animal welfare.
Every improvement made behind the scenes has a direct impact on the animals in our care. A more sustainable organisation means greater financial stability, better long-term planning, and increased capacity to provide lifelong care, maintain our facilities, and be there for animals that have nowhere else to go.
You'll work alongside the Founder and a committed team who are passionate about creating positive change. Your expertise will help strengthen the organisation at a pivotal stage in its development, ensuring it has the foundations, resilience, and resources to continue its mission well into the future.
The impact of your contribution will be lasting. By helping future-proof the charity, you will play an important role in protecting a permanent, safe home for our current residents and helping ensure Dean Farm Trust can continue rescuing, rehabilitating, and providing sanctuary for vulnerable animals for many years to come.

What Are We Looking For?
What Qualities and Experience Should Your Volunteer Have?
We are looking for experienced professionals who are passionate about using their skills to make a meaningful difference to the long-term future of a growing animal sanctuary.
You will bring relevant professional experience in either finance and budgeting or marketing and communications, together with the ability to apply your knowledge in a practical, collaborative way.
We are particularly looking for people who:
- Have significant experience within their chosen profession.
- Enjoy finding practical solutions and helping organisations improve.
- Are strategic thinkers but equally willing to get involved and deliver.
- Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Can work collaboratively with the Founder, volunteers, and wider team.
- Are organised, reliable, and able to manage their own workload.
- Share our compassionate values and commitment to animal welfare.
Finance and Budgeting Volunteer
Ideally, you will have experience in one or more of the following:
- Financial management, budgeting, or forecasting.
- Charity finance, management accounting, or business planning.
- Financial analysis and reporting.
- Developing financial processes, controls, or systems.
- Supporting strategic decision-making through financial insight.
A recognised finance or accounting qualification would be advantageous but is not essential where equivalent experience can be demonstrated.
Marketing and Communications Volunteer
We are looking for someone with experience in areas such as:
- Marketing strategy and planning.
- Brand development and communications.
- Digital marketing and supporter engagement.
- Content planning and campaign development.
- Public relations, media, or stakeholder communications.
- Analysing marketing performance and identifying opportunities for growth.

Experience within the charity sector would be welcomed for either role but is not essential. We value transferable skills, fresh perspectives, and a willingness to learn about the Sanctuary and our mission.

These are active volunteering opportunities where your expertise will help strengthen the organisation, increase its resilience, and contribute to securing a sustainable future for the Sanctuary and the 200 rescued animals who rely on us.

These specialist volunteer roles are hands-on opportunities to use your professional skills to make a real difference. We're looking for people who want to work alongside our Founder and team to help solve challenges, strengthen systems, and support the long-term sustainability of the Sanctuary.
Like many small charities, we're facing increasing demands as we grow. Your expertise could help shape our future and directly improve the lives of the 200 rescued animals who call Dean Farm Trust home.
Current Volunteer Opportunities
We are currently recruiting volunteers with experience in:
- Finance and Budgeting
- Grant Writing (Grants and Funding)
- Marketing and Communications
Although the Sanctuary is based on the outskirts of Chepstow, these roles can be carried out remotely, so you do not need to live locally.
Please note these are not Trustee roles. However, there may be opportunities to become a Trustee in the future for those who wish to explore that route as part of their volunteering journey.
