About Hannakins
Hannakins Farm Community Centre provides local facilities for hire, and is used by various Clubs, Groups and members of the public. The Centre is run by West Billericay Community Association Ltd, a registered charity, and overseen by a board of volunteer trustees. We are looking to appoint a new trustee who can bring experience and practical support to help ensure the Centre continues to serve the local community.
About the role
This role would suit someone local to Billericay, possibly retired or semi-retired. As a trustee, you will share responsibility for the governance and oversight of the charity. You will work with the other trustees and Centre Manager to make decisions in the best interests of the charity. Alongside the normal duties of a charity trustee, the successful person would need to be able to attend the Centre regularly, usually around once a week, and be available on an occasional ad hoc basis where practical issues arise.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
