Are you passionate about highlighting poverty and those facing financial hardship? We’re looking for talented writers to join our news team, working with the editor to create content for our website. This is a collaborative role working closely with other writers and the wider volunteer team.
What difference will you make?
Through your content, you will help us build stronger relationships with our supporters and share clear, evidence-based information with a wider audience.
Your contribution will help us tell compelling stories that inform, inspire, and engage stakeholders, funders, and the public, strengthening support for our mission and helping to secure its long-term sustainability.
What are we looking for?
- Experience in a writing or research role.
- Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, factual, poverty-focused content.
- Strong research skills, including the use of both primary and secondary sources.
- A good understanding of analytics and audience demographics.
- Excellent project management and delivery skills, with the ability to manage your workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
- The ability to build relationships with key industry partners and contacts.
- The confidence and experience to hit the ground running, work at pace, and take initiative and ownership across the projects you lead.
- A strong instinct for telling people’s stories in ways that engage and educate diverse audiences.
- A genuine passion for amplifying other people’s voices and experiences to engage and educate.
- Experience working with communities experiencing poverty, marginalisation, or other vulnerabilities.
- Ideally, some experience of working in a small, remote team.

What will you be doing?
At Clothing Collective, our story began in 2018, when we set out to assist those in our society facing difficulties in clothing themselves. We wanted to bridge the gap between the vast resources available across the country and those who had little or no access to them. Over the past five years, we have become a recognised leader in providing access to clothing by connecting people in need with existing stock held by charity shops.
In 2024, we entered an exciting new chapter as a charity, revitalising and refocusing our mission. We are strengthening our offer and empowering our partners and volunteers to help achieve our goals. We are now seeking passionate individuals to join our team on a voluntary basis and help us grow to the next level.

Our charitable objective is to provide access to clean, warm, good-quality clothing. We now also wish to expand this objective by carrying out research and publishing useful findings for the benefit of the public.
We are seeking people who can contribute to the development of our online publishing ambitions, helping us provide authoritative data and factual information to a wider audience.
The role will include regularly generating new ideas, writing articles, researching developments, and working closely with the editor. You will contribute to the development and delivery of insightful, evidence-based articles, presentations, and storytelling outputs tailored to diverse audiences. You will also help conduct and manage robust qualitative and quantitative analysis to generate actionable insights.
