There are several ways to get involved in Astrum beyond paid employment. Whether you are interested in volunteering directly within academies, contributing through governance, supporting fundraising activity or helping the trust grow through referrals, these routes provide different ways to make a meaningful contribution.

Volunteering in our academies
Astrum invites enthusiastic and compassionate individuals to volunteer within its academies. The live volunteering page highlights opportunities to support children with special needs in practical school-based roles.

Trustee & Governor roles
Becoming a trustee or governor is an opportunity to contribute to strategic leadership, accountability and the future direction of the trust. Governance roles help strengthen challenge, oversight and long-term development across Astrum.

Parents and Friends Association
Parents and carers of pupils at Newbridge or Hatchside are automatically members of the Parents and Friends Association, with staff, friends and family also welcome to join and support activities across both schools.
- Four online meetings each year
- Fundraising activities for both schools
- Open to parents, carers, staff, friends and family
Refer a Friend Scheme
Astrum’s Refer a Friend Scheme is open to current employees and offers a financial referral incentive to help grow the trust’s team.
