Volunteering Support Coordinator
Contract type: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract, 34.5 hours per week
Location: Hybrid between home and our London, Shipley or Glasgow Office
Salary Range: £26,552 to £29,600

About the role
We're looking for an organised and customer-focused Volunteering Support Coordinator to join our Volunteering Support Team.
In this role, you'll help deliver the volunteering support elements of Macmillan's Volunteering Strategy, ensuring volunteers and colleagues receive a high-quality, efficient and consistent support service. You'll be responsible for supporting with volunteer administration, overseeing the volunteer manager support inbox and supporting volunteer manager communications, while working closely with teams across the organisation to enhance the volunteer experience. Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, you'll play an important role in ensuring volunteers are supported throughout their journey with Macmillan and that volunteering activities align with organisational priorities and best practice.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for volunteering enquiries, providing a high-quality and timely support service.
- Maintain and improve volunteer resources, guidance materials and processes to support colleagues and volunteers.
- Support volunteer engagement, stewardship, recognition and retention initiatives.
- Support volunteer communications and help ensure a positive volunteer experience throughout the volunteer journey.
- Monitor and maintain accurate volunteering data, supporting reporting and performance tracking.
- Coordinate meetings, training and events, providing administrative support where required.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Macmillan to deliver volunteering priorities and continuous improvement initiatives.

About you
The skills and experience we are looking for in the role are:
- Experience in an administrative, customer service, volunteer support or coordination role.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- An understanding of what creates a high-quality volunteer experience.
- Knowledge of volunteering best practice, including volunteer engagement, compliance and equality considerations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
