We're supporting a leading mid-market private equity firm on the appointment of a VP, Data & AI to help drive AI-enabled value creation across an international portfolio of B2B and professional services businesses.
The firm has an established portfolio of market-leading companies, a highly regarded value creation function, and a growing commitment to leveraging Data & AI as a catalyst for growth, productivity, and enterprise value creation. Having already invested in internal AI capabilities and seen strong adoption across parts of the portfolio, it is now looking to bring in a dedicated specialist to accelerate the next phase of AI-led transformation.
AI is becoming an increasingly important lever for value creation across the portfolio, creating significant opportunities to enhance service delivery, improve operational efficiency, accelerate growth, and unlock new commercial opportunities.
The Role
- Identify, prioritise, and execute AI-enabled value creation initiatives across a diverse portfolio of PE-backed businesses
- Partner closely with CEOs, CTOs, and management teams to assess opportunities and accelerate AI adoption
- Drive the transition from AI experimentation towards scalable, repeatable, ROI-driven outcomes
- Act as the firm's specialist advisor on Data & AI, helping portfolio companies translate emerging technologies into measurable business impact
- Share best practices and successful use cases across the portfolio to maximise value creation opportunities
- Manage external implementation partners and specialist providers to ensure high-quality delivery and commercial outcomes
- Support the firm's internal AI agenda, governance activities, and broader technology initiatives
- Build credibility across both technical and non-technical stakeholder groups, acting as a trusted advisor to leadership teams

Candidate Profile
- Proven experience leading AI, data, digital transformation, or value creation initiatives within consulting, technology, private equity, or corporate environments
- Strong track record of identifying and delivering AI initiatives that generate measurable operational, commercial, or financial impact
- Technical credibility across AI, machine learning, data, and modern technology environments without being a pure engineering or research specialist
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders, including CEOs, CTOs, Boards, and investment professionals
- Ability to operate across multiple businesses, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution
- Experience within professional services, B2B services, private equity-backed businesses, or portfolio transformation environments is highly desirable
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business audiences effectively
