VP Business Development (Team Lead) - Cell & Gene Contract Manufacturing
We are partnering on a highly strategic, confidential search with a market-leading gene therapy CDMO. The organisation is widely regarded as one of the few global pure-play experts in its niche, supporting advanced cell and gene therapy programs across preclinical, clinical, and commercial stages.
Following continued growth and increasing demand, the business is now investing in a senior commercial leader to:
- Drive global business development strategy
- Lead and build a high-performing BD team
- Expand presence across biotech and pharma clients

Key responsibilities:
- Define and execute global BD strategy across Europe and North America
- Lead, mentor, and scale a growing commercial team
- Drive new business acquisition across biotech and pharma (cell & gene therapy space)
- Build strategic partnerships with key accounts and platform innovators
- Work closely with technical and operations teams to align customer solutions with capability
- Represent the company at key industry events
- Support long-term commercial roadmap and market positioning
Required experience:

- Significant BD / commercial leadership experience within:
- Viral vectors / CGT CDMO
- Gene therapy services
- Advanced biologics outsourcing
- Strong understanding of lentiviral vectors and/or ex vivo therapies (CAR-T, HSC, etc.)
- Proven ability to win and grow strategic accounts
- Experience leading and developing BD teams
- Established network across biotech and pharma (CGT space)
