The Role
We are actively looking for a Senior Commercial Freight Leader who can provide visionary leadership to our commercial team in the freight division for our UK, Ireland and Nordic teams. You will be managing a large team driving the commercial ambitions for the teams and making sure that goals and budget are met and exceeded.
You will be the strategic lead in developing business in Air, Freight, Ocean and Road products. You will be responsible for your own budget and using the allocated budget to hit growth and revenue goals. You will also work with other teams at DP World to promote cross selling opportunities as we move towards become and end to end logistics organisation.
You will be reporting to our Senior Vice President for commercial for the geographical area. Managing a team of diverse sales people across geographies, you will manage their development and supporting them to make sure that they hit their goals. You will also work with the global and regional teams to execute strategic initiatives and customer opportunities.
The key part of this role is to develop long term strategic relationships with customers and engaging with the senior leadership teams building trusted relationships. We provide a high level of autonomy and we will support you in driving forward your strategic goals however you wish to execute them.
This is a key strategic role within the freight team where you will be a part of a complex integrated logistics organisation which has a truly global footprint.

So, who are we looking for?
Key skills and experience include:
- Extensive experience of leading commercial teams in large multinational freight forwarding or logistics companies
- A strategic mindset and the ability to execute long term growth plans into day to day activity
- The ability to manage multiple senior strategic relationships with both customers and internally
- A strong focus and track record of achieving yearly growing sales targets
- Fantastic people management skills and previous experience of managing people across multiple countries
- The ability to collaborate and previous experience of cross selling other services
- A visionary leader who has a strong understanding and future direction of the freight forwarding industry.
