Job Purpose

To implement the agreed press strategy (Digital, Formats, and Non-Scripted) for Banijay Rights.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the agreed press and media strategy for Digital, Formats, and Non-Scripted genres, under the direction of the EVP Communications & Marketing
  • Draft press releases and PR materials
  • Gather coverage reports for all press releases
  • Represent Banijay Rights in Group communications meetings
  • Work with EVP Communications & Marketing to help increase the profile of the division
  • Assist with the management of crisis communications
  • Provide post-sales support to licensees in terms of launch and ongoing publicity/sales support
  • Work with VP Design to input/support copywriting on Banijay Rights marketing materials
  • Manage day-to-day social media activity for Banijay Rights in collaboration with Group
  • Oversee press media lists and expand journalist relationships
  • Work with local show publicists/network publicists and develop these relationships in terms of implementing publicity requests from licensees
  • Organise and manage press campaigns for licensees and clients
  • Identify specific press feature opportunities for the Banijay Rights team, particularly around key trade events such as MIPCOM and The London TV Screenings, plus regional events
  • Along with fellow VP Communications, jointly oversee the monthly Banijay Rights communications newsletter
  • Along with fellow VP Communications, co-line manage the Communications Coordinator
  • Other press and marketing duties as required

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • More than five years in a press or publicity role, preferably in the TV industry
  • Ability to build strong relationships with creative and sales talent
  • Proven relationships with journalists
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and nuance
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in a busy environment, with effective time management skills
