Role Overview

The VP Components drives profitable growth of APOC's component trading and sales business by setting and executing the strategy for inventory, pricing and acquisitions, building and leading a high-performing sales team, and developing strong relationships with airline and MRO customers. The role owns the commercial value stream from purchasing through sales execution, ensuring digital tools, reporting and quality/safety standards support consistent, profitable delivery against APOC's commercial goals.

Responsibilities

Trading Profitability: The VP Components is responsible for designing and implementing inventory and trading strategies that drive margin into the Sales process. That includes tracking of ROI across various parts portfolios and projects.

Customer Base & Client Relationship Management: The VP Components is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans that grow the core customer base of airlines and MRO, and for building and maintaining strong relationships with strategic clients and stakeholders. This includes identifying new market opportunities, setting sales targets, and devising strategies in collaboration with the Business Development team to penetrate new markets or increase market share in existing ones, as well as engaging directly with major clients to understand their needs, negotiate contracts, and ensure client satisfaction. The VP also works to retain existing clients and develop new relationships — often representing the company at industry events and meetings — and ensures that sales strategies are effectively implemented across the sales team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
