We’re on a mission to back the UK’s small businesses like no one else 🚀

Small businesses are the backbone of the economy, and we’re here to help them win. We’ve built a platform that uses clever data to get them the funding they need in minutes, not weeks.

At Funding Circle, we have the restless energy of a fintech start-up with the stability of a public company. It’s a unique mix that gives Circlers the autonomy to take ownership and the scale to make an impact that truly counts.

We’re a high-performing team that chooses to lift each other up. We challenge, we champion, and we have each other’s backs - because we know that when we stand together, we move faster and build better.

The impact is real: Last year alone, the businesses on our platform generated £7.2bn for the UK economy 📈 Come and join a mission that matters!

The role ⚡

📍 London (Hybrid) | 🤝 2 days in the office | 💰 Competitive Salary + Benefits

Reporting to our CTO, the VP Data leads an enterprise-wide mandate shaping how data powers our organisation. Directing a team of specialists across Data Engineering, Data Platform, and Data Product Management, you’ll define and deliver the next phase of our data modernisation, ensuring the data foundations are in place to support our AI-native ambitions and leading our data transformation project.

We’ve heavily invested in our data capability in recent years; establishing clear direction and putting a strong team in place. Now, the shift is all about execution, adoption, and scaling impact.

You’ll build on this momentum by expanding our enterprise data foundations, defining, building and adopting critical domain-aligned data products, and embedding effective data governance across the business. Sitting at the heart of our tech agenda, your work will directly accelerate product development, operational automation, and smarter commercial decisions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
