Leverton Search Recruitment
Leverton Search is working with a high-quality boutique investment manager to appoint a Business Development professional to lead and grow its presence across the UK wealth and wholesale market.
This is a genuinely entrepreneurial, relationship-led role for an established sales professional who can open doors, develop long-term partnerships and help shape the firm’s commercial approach to a strategically important distribution channel. The position offers real ownership: this is not simply an execution role within a large, pre-defined sales structure.
The successful individual will focus principally on discretionary wealth managers, particularly firms with £1bn+ of assets under management. They will build relationships with investment managers, research teams and investment committees, develop a robust prospect pipeline, and ultimately convert engagement into meaningful client mandates.
You will work closely with senior management and the existing business development resource to create a more systematic, targeted and collaborative approach to UK wealth and wholesale coverage.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
