Dex

Dex is an AI recruiter agent that helps you run your job search. Tell Dex your stack, seniority, and what you want to build. We will manage your applications and surface other opportunities that are a fit.

The Company

This company is tackling a hard problem: making movement genuinely fun for the vast majority of people fitness has never reached. Their core product is in VR, with new bets forming in wearable AI and AR glasses. These are zero-to-one builds, with no established playbook.

The Role Description

You'll join the senior leadership team, shaping company and product direction, not just executing it. This isn't a'maintain the machine' VP Eng role; it's about building the machine, and the AI-driven way of building it, simultaneously. You'll lead a lean team of 11 engineers, coaching through the work, occasionally shipping code on early prototypes without sitting on the critical path.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Responsibilities

  • Raise product velocity through ambitious AI leverage. This means validation processes for safe AI use, restructuring applications and infra, and assigning tickets to cloud agents.
  • Lead and develop a fully remote engineering team of 11. Coach through the work, not from a distance.
  • Drive the technical vision for zero-to-one builds in wearable AI and AR glasses, extending a core VR product.
  • Sit on the senior leadership team. Shape company and product strategy.
  • Occasionally ship or review code on early prototypes. Stay hands-on without being on the critical path.

What You Bring

  • You've held a company-wide leadership role: VP Engineering, CTO, Director of Engineering, or Technical Co-Founder. You drive change and think like a product leader.
  • You've shipped a consumer tech product, ideally in games, fitness, wellness, wearables, or habit formation.
  • AI has genuinely transformed your personal or professional development workflow. This is not a nice-to-have; it's core.
  • Strong backend engineering experience, particularly building frameworks and reusable components for other engineers on platform-like teams.
  • You've worked in lean, fully remote teams and have strong opinions on what makes them work.
