VP Fund Management

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a VP Fund Management based in United Kingdom.

As VP Fund Management, you will lead the creation, launch, and growth of an institutional-grade Bitcoin-denominated investment fund designed to generate sustainable BTC-based returns while prioritizing capital preservation. You will own the fund's investment strategy, portfolio construction, risk framework, investor relationships, and regulatory governance from the ground up. Combining traditional asset management expertise with deep knowledge of Bitcoin markets and decentralized finance, you will develop diversified strategies across BTC-collateralized lending, market-neutral trading, derivatives, and on-chain yield opportunities. You will lead capital-raising initiatives targeting institutional investors, ecosystem funds, and foundation treasuries while ensuring rigorous compliance and transparent performance reporting. As a founding executive, you will work closely with independent directors, external service providers, and technical teams to establish a robust, scalable investment platform. This is a unique opportunity to shape an emerging institutional financial product within a global, remote-first environment at the intersection of Bitcoin, capital markets, and financial innovation.

Accountabilities

  • Define the fund's investment strategy: Establish the investment mandate, portfolio construction methodology, asset allocation policy, and investment limits, securing board approval and aligning decisions with the objective of delivering risk-adjusted returns measured in BTC while prioritizing principal preservation.
  • Build and manage the investment portfolio: Source, evaluate, and execute investment opportunities across BTC-collateralized lending, market-neutral and basis strategies, liquidity provision, and yield-generating opportunities across Bitcoin-aligned financial platforms.
  • Lead investment due diligence: Assess investment counterparties, protocols, custodians, and trading venues, evaluating creditworthiness, smart-contract vulnerabilities, bridge risks, custody arrangements, and liquidation mechanisms.
  • Oversee portfolio performance: Monitor investments and exposures, evaluate strategy-level returns, and deliver transparent performance attribution and reporting denominated in Bitcoin.
  • Establish the risk management framework: Define and implement exposure limits, concentration thresholds, liquidity requirements, collateral haircuts, drawdown triggers, and escalation procedures in collaboration with the risk management function.
  • Protect capital through active risk monitoring: Conduct daily portfolio reviews and stress tests covering Bitcoin price shocks, liquidity disruptions, counterparty or venue failures, stablecoin depegging, and protocol-related risks.
  • Manage liquidity and redemptions: Maintain an appropriate liquidity profile aligned with investor redemption terms, ensuring the fund can meet its obligations while preserving portfolio stability.
  • Lead fundraising and investor relations: Develop relationships with Layer 1 (L1) foundations, ecosystem funds, treasury managers, and institutional allocators to secure commitments and achieve the target of $500 million in committed capital within 12 months of launch.
  • Structure investor arrangements: Develop suitable share classes, side letters, and investment terms that accommodate foundation treasuries and institutional investors while complying with applicable marketing and solicitation requirements.
  • Oversee investor communications: Produce monthly investor reports and quarterly investment letters, lead investor calls and annual meetings, and maintain transparent communication regarding performance, portfolio positioning, and risk.
  • Direct fund governance and compliance: Work with the board, independent directors, anti-money laundering officers, legal counsel, administrators, and auditors to maintain effective governance and meet applicable regulatory obligations.
  • Manage fund documentation and valuation: Oversee offering documents, valuation policies, and net asset value (NAV) calculation processes in coordination with the fund administrator.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance: Oversee applicable Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) filings, investor anti-money laundering and know-your-customer (AML/KYC) procedures, annual audits, and ongoing regulatory reporting.
  • Manage external service providers: Select and oversee custodians, prime brokers, over-the-counter (OTC) trading desks, fund administrators, auditors, and on-chain infrastructure providers.
  • Build and lead the fund team: Recruit, develop, and manage a lean team spanning investment analysis, risk management, and operations as the fund scales.
  • Represent the fund across the ecosystem: Serve as the senior investment representative in relationships with Bitcoin and L1 ecosystems, institutional partners, and investors, translating market demand into insights that inform product development and strategic priorities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
