About STUDIOCANAL

🎬 STUDIOCANAL, the in-house studio of CANAL+, is Europe’s leading film and television studio. Through its in-house operations and network of 23 production companies across Europe and the US, STUDIOCANAL finances, produces and distributes around half of the group’s 200 films and 80 series each year.

STUDIOCANAL owns one of the world’s most prestigious film libraries, including the largest catalogue of European films, with nearly 10,000 titles from 60 countries spanning a century of cinema. Since 2020, the studio has invested €25 million in the 4K restoration of 1,000 films, including Breathless, The Graduate, Terminator 2, and Love Actually.

Building on the global success of Paddington, STUDIOCANAL is scaling its franchise model through three new labels: STUDIOCANAL Stories, focused on adapting literary hits for film and TV; STUDIOCANAL Kids & Family, dedicated to building children’s entertainment franchises, and STUDIOCANAL ON STAGE, specialising in adapting films for live theatre.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and assist in the development and implementation of global publicity strategies/campaigns, working closely with the international publicity managers across the slate.
  • Responsibilities will include the French slate (limited) and catalogue slate (STUDIOCANAL CLASSICS) in addition to international and local STUDIOCANAL productions.
  • On occasion, bring film discipline and expertise to projects such as Paddington the Musical extending to the STUDIOCANAL ON STAGE slate.
  • Shared responsibility for STUDIOCANAL’s annual international film festival strategy and execution. Travel to festivals to spearhead activity on the ground with timely reporting. Ensure festival strategy is coordinated between the global team, local teams, third-party distribution teams, filmmakers/producers, and festival teams.
  • Contribute to awards strategy across the slate as relevant and required.
  • Manage global junkets, festival premieres, and touring, including creating, maintaining, reconciling all aspects of the publicity budget, presenting costs for consideration and approval with negotiations demonstrated.
  • Navigate challenging press enquiries, territory, and filmmaker issues in a timely and strategic manner.
  • Day-to-day management of multiple projects from development, pre-production, production, markets, festival premieres, release campaigns, and announcement strategy in close collaboration with relevant in-house and external stakeholder teams.
  • Draft written communications such as announcements, talking points, relevant campaign updates for filmmakers, stakeholders, and internal seminars. Exceptional written skills required for sense-checking material such as production notes.
  • Co-lead regular meetings with STUDIOCANAL territory publicity team leads in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Benelux, and Poland. Liaise and collaborate with third-party distributors, many of whom will be priority clients having acquired big-budget productions from STUDIOCANAL.
  • Communicate with all STUDIOCANAL territories and external third-party distribution partners to share clear and detailed information on all relevant titles throughout the campaign. Ensure all parties feel updated and included across every step. Establish and maintain a global timeline reflecting market needs.
  • Regular travel to STUDIOCANAL head office in Paris will be required.
  • Production publicity engagement and presence on set will be required.
  • Deliverable materials remain a priority for our business and as part of the post-sale service to ensure our campaigns evoke quality. This includes:
    • Press releases
    • Production Notes
    • Stills (first look images, press selects, BTS)
    • Clips
    • Featurettes (as required in an ever-changing landscape)
    • Digital ideas for execution in collaboration with our digital team
  • Liaison with production, filmmakers, and relevant STUDIOCANAL departments is key across this process. All materials require filmmaker approval ahead of worldwide and contractual delivery.
  • Ability to consider external support and expertise in this area.

  • Liaise with and support the international catalogue department and local catalogue teams across key releases. This includes announcements, anniversary activity, festivals, talent, and filmmaker liaison, and updated/new deliverable materials to ensure iconic titles are celebrated worldwide. The catalogue slate is curated annually with regular meetings to establish priorities.
  • Attend relevant publicity and international department meetings as required. Note: we have global teams in both Paris and London with territory teams worldwide.
  • Attend and present at annual territory seminars.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
